Elizabeth Cortright graduated Cum Laude from the University of Texas at Dallas. She later attended Texas Wesleyan University School of Law in 2009, and became licensed to practice law in Texas in May, 2010. She has successfully tried cases across Dallas, Johnson, Parker, Tarrant and Denton counties. Ms. Cortright also practices in federal court, in the Northern District of Texas, and she handles appeals on all levels.
Membership and Involvement
As a member of the Board of Directors for the Texas Association of Specialty Court, and the president-elect for the Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association, Ms. Cortright is extremely active in the legal community. She is also the co-chair for the Court Staff Appreciation Committee, and she is on the Bench Bar Committee.
Ms. Cortright is a member of the Texas Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association, the Tarrant County Criminal Defense Lawyer’s Association, the Texas Association of Specialty Courts, the National Association of Drug Court Professionals, the National College of DUI defense, the Tarrant County Bar Association and the State Bar College.
Ms. Cortright is an avid horse woman, but retired in August 2007 after winning a world’s championship to pursue her legal career. She most recently earned a National Top Ten award at the Morgan World’s Championship Grand National Horse Show. Ms. Cortright joined the Hardy Law Group in 2016 and handles all appellate work for the firm.
